A new year is starting
Well another year is done. A new year is starting and it looks like the new one may be a year of continuing economic recovery. My guess is that you are not reading this for investment advice. Let me ask you what are your riding plans for the year? Are you going on a vacation and getting in some ride time in a new area? Making the Sturgis run? Have you been to the big island for the Labor Day run? Here is the biggie, the Hawaii State HOG RALLY. It is happening on Maui this year! WOW what a deal Have you ever been to the state rally? It is a few days of getting together, riding, and in general having fun.
This past year, Pam and I were lucky enough to ship one of our bikes to the mainland and go on a road trip. Now that her replacement trike is in, she is talking about taking ME for a ride across the country! Anybody want to come along for a bit of that? In the course of the ride we put over ten thousand miles on our trusty Iron steed. It was a lot of fun and we only visited about 15 states. It was vacation money that was well spent. It felt good supporting the Hotels, restaurants, and dealerships with in the United States instead of “traveling road” and we got to take in some GREAT SCENERY to boot!
There are a lot of possibilities for having fun are you going to participate and contribute? How about submitting an article to our webmaster? Let’s see what your ideas and activities are. Please feel free to come on down for a weekend ride, visit our sponsoring dealership, revisit with friends you know or make some new ones. Maybe we can get together for a few more dinner rides here and there. What do you say? Anyone up for a game of putt-putt golf (http://www.mauihawaii.org/maui-activities/glow-putt.htm), or a movie night? What are your ideas?
Hopefully you can find the time to get on your bike and come out for a ride, share a place that is a good destination, and enjoy some good company. It would be great if we could all do this and even introduce some new friends to our group. It makes sense that the more people we show a good time to the more friendly the cage drivers will tend to be if we can help them understand that we are a good part of the community and riding our bikes is a fun way we get around to see our island.
