March Madness High Stakes Poker Run

WOW !!! 

What a fantastic day out we had Sunday March 30th 2008 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Activities Director Michael, really put together a fantastic program !! -- Congratulations Michael !! 

Starting at 9.00am with the Poker Run sign up's at Maui Harley Davidson - We had a short gathering, I expressed gratitude to those H.O.G members that turned out for Saturdays - March Madness Sale at Maui Harley Davidson and cooked and served  food all day for the customers - Plus helped with H.O.G sing up's and H.O.G merchadise sales and I congratulated those members that got a 'Smokin' deal on a Brand New Harley !!  -- Which is only offered at the March Madness Sale once a year !!  We then had a short safety talk about the days ride and a pre-ride prayer.

With help from the great ! Staff at Maui Harley Davidson, we made our way out of the dealership parking lot and headed off  on our days ride  !                                                                                                                                                                                                       

The ride went straight from Maui Harley Davidson to Flemming Beach Park at Kapalua for the second poker stop, I was pleased to see Joe (Maui H/D Manager) come along with us on the ride - It's not that often Joe gets to come out with us - And - 'Ride And Have Fun' !! 

Also on the ride with us, was Joe's new Assitant Sales Manager - JC - JC has just moved to Maui Harley Davidson from the Kauai branch - Welcome JC !! - Hopefully you can take some of the load off Joe and he can get out and ride with us more  often !! -- Some how, after Sunday's ride, I think JC is maybe thinking, it needs to be the other way around !! -- JC had a mechanical problem with his own Shovel Head on the way to Lahaina - Not to worry - Youg (Robs significantly better half !) picked him up off the side of the road in the chase truck, gave him a ride to Flemming Beach Park for his second poker pull - Maui H/D brought out a replacment ride,  took JC'S bike back to Maui H/D service dept and JC was back in business on the return trip with the wind in his face !! --  'Ridin & Havin Fun' !! -- Only on Maui !!

Our third stop was at Eha Lounge in Wailuku, where we had a few refreshments and some great pupu's !! - Thanks to H.O.G member Cathy for getting that organised !! - You RULE !!

The forth stop was a short one at 'Giggle Hill' Marine Park in Haiku - With all hands pulled we were off once again !!

Fifth and final stop was at Rice Park in Kula where our H.O.G members cooked a richous bar-ba-cue - On the menu was steak, chicken, rice, corn on the cob and a baked bean and bacon combo put together by Lani --  Thanks Lani !! - We had a live band, that played island and reggae sounds, A 50/50 with over $900.00 in the pot !!  - A raffle give-away sponsored by Maui Harley Davidson and biker games - A tire toss, piston toss and a carburator toss !!

What a Great Day !! Out !! --  Congratulations to our H.O.G Members Jason for winning Poker Run with Four Ace's - What's the chance of that happening again !! Jason walked away with a, hansome purse of $450.00 - Thank you very much !! - I asked him if that money was going towards his 2009 Sturgis Fund !

 Donna took second place with a $200.00 purse

And Paul took third place with a $100.00 purse

Worst hand was won by Hulio from Koa Puna M/C                                                                                                     

Congratulations to Darren for winning the 50/50 which also just happened to be $450.00 !!
