Remembering Our Fallen Brothers & Sisters .

In commemoration of those we honor on Memorial Day, I want to pass on a letter I found from a fellow brother & biker. War is never an easy decision or pleasant, but sometimes a necessary evil. We all love the peace and freedom we share, to be able to cruise the highways and by-ways of the "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave". A place we call . AMERICA . Don't forget to cherish your freedom, and give thanks and admiration to those who leave their family and friends, to go and fight for you & me, to secure FREEDOM for all. God bless you & America .

Passing It On .

I'm writing this letter from Baghdad , Iraq . I'm part of the 3 rd Infantry Division, and I just received my first edition of Hog Tales for being a new Harley owner.

I have dreamed of owning a Harley ever since I was a little kid and heard the rumble of one as it passed our car. I remember having my nose pressed against the car window and a passing rider gave me the "peace" sign. I remember thinking, WOW !!

Decades later, I finally bought a new Harley while stationed in Germany . I had just returned from a six-month tour in Kosovo. My wife had saved money while I was gone, so we went and bought a brand-new Dyna Wide Glide. What a great year it was: my wife and I celebrated our first anniversary, we had our first born son, and we finally had a Harley motorcycle.

Unfortunately, I had only been able to ride my bike a few times, before being shipped out to Iraq . I did, however, manage to spend one weekend in Daytona during Bike Week. On my way from Fort Stewart , I passed a car with a little wide-eyed boy, with his nose pressed against the window, waving at me. I gave him the "peace" sign, recalling that day so long ago when I was a boy, and thought . "Some day kid - if you want it bad enough, you'll get a Harley too."
