July 4th Parade & BBQ

What a FANTASTIC !!  turn out we had for the Annual 4th of July Makawao Parade & Bar-Ba-Cue this year !!! 

 

The largest turn out of H.O.G members YET !!! 

 

The weekend started out on Friday morning packing the coolers, tables, tents, chairs, flags & bar-ba-cue's onto the trailer and a trip to CostCo to pick up food and supplies for the long weekend !!

 

Saturday morning came around bright and early - And with a trip up the mountain to Makawao School, we met up with about 35 other H.O.G members and their Harley-Davidsons, eagerly awaiting the start of the -- 44th -- 4th of July Makawao Parade and the kick off for the rodeo weekend !! 

 

We were staged up as usual, behind - What seamed like a never-ending parade of classic cars and trucks - between the classic cars group and the Maui H.O.G chapter, we easily made up the, two largest groups in the parade this year !! FANTASTIC !!!!!

With the last classic car pulling out onto the parade route, we sent the Harley Truck ahead of us, dressed up in numerous H.O.G chapter and American flags -- Paul B drove the truck, with Helene and Jennifer standing up thru the sun roof patriotically, waving American flags and greeting the crowd with a 'raucous' --  " Happy 4th Of July " !! -- Kathy-Lynn walked behind the truck and handed out hundreds of Maui Harley-Davidson pens and key chains to the crowd, along with my grandson on the back of my bike and Andrea's son on the back of her bike, all supplied by Maui H/D !! --  Thank you Maui H/D !!

 

We had a standing ovation from the spectators, as usual !!  --  With 35, thundering

Harley-Davidson's, making their way along the parade route. Having the Harley's in the parade is always a massive hit, with the crowd !! --  Everyone love's to see the shinny chrome and listen to the unmistakable rumble from the American made Harley-Davidson motor !! 

 

Directly after the parade ended, we headed straight to Rice Park for our

Annual 4th of July Bar-Ba-Cue bash, where about 20 more H.O.G members showed up, that weren't able to make it to the parade -- Two of which were Brother Al & his wife Lorie - It's always a pleasure to see them at our events -- It's not that often they are able to break-away from their busy schedule and join us !!

 

 And what a BASH !! IT WAS !!!  

 

Tri-Tip Beef, Pork Ribs, Alaskan King Crab Legs, Chicken,  2 type's of beans, corn and some awesome sauteed mushroom's, followed by Kula strawberry's, water melon and WHIPPED CREAM !!!  --  And your favorite beverage !!  --  with some great biker music belting out of the Harley Truck, we ate and drank our self's into a 4th of July - 'STUPOR' !!  LOL !! 

 

Life don't get much better than THAT !!!!  LOL !!!!

If you didn't make it ??????  --  Oh well !!!  -- Maybe next year !!!!!

THAT'S EXACTELY WHAT WE WILL BE DOING AT THE MAUI H.O.G CHAPTER !!!!!!!!!! --  LOL !!!!
