Hi there,
I just started riding an 883 and managed to put 2500 miles on the bike since May. Of course our New York weather made me hesitate once the cold and snow arrived. I am a HOG member and belong to the Lighthouse Chapter in Suffolk County, Long Island. I am going to be on Maui in March for 5 nights, but I will be on Oahu for a longer period of time. I'll also have more of an opportunity to ride while on Oahu. Can you give me some leads on what to do, how to meet HOG members there, where to rent a bike...etc. At this time, I would say I'm interested in riding sometime during the week between May 30th and April 3rd, 2009.
Thanks so much. Safe and happy riding, Jeanne

Hello! I just found out that I will be in Waikoloa from March 7th through March 14th. I am extremely interested in renting a bike for at least a day while I am there and enjoying the opportunity to ride. What I would LOVE help with...I understand there are not rentals available on the big island...What are my best options for travel to another island where rentals are available? Does your chapter have a ride planned during these dates? Any information/help you can give me will be greatly appreciated! Thank you SO very much! Kris

Aloha fellow HOG, VFW, PGR and CVMA members!! :-) Am anxious beyond words to hopefully ride with you either this coming weekend, or the following. Too cold and too much snow here in the "West of Michigan" to wash, blow-dry, and apply Pledge to my 09 EGC scooter but, boy oh boy, bein' with you friends will help thaw out my blood nicely!! Peace to all ~ Let's Ride!

Hello Maui H.O.G. members! My wife and I will be on your beautiful island from noon on 3-3-09 until the evening of 3-9-09. We have met many H.O.G. members from all over the 48 states and now we'd like to meet and do some ridin' with you folks. We are in the process of getting a rental bike and would like to hear from anyone who would be willing to show us around. I would also like to participate on you Sunday group ride. Also any hotel advice for stayin" in the Lahiana area? We're thinkin' about the Royal Lahaina resort or the Outrigger Royal Kahana.

Please contact Rick and Jackie at 814-434-4248, or at rick@neo.rr.com
Thanks in advance for your help and advice. "Rickman"

Hello Maui HOG members.

My wife Connie and I are members of the Omaha/Council Bluffs HOG chapter in Omaha, Nebraska......and believe me.......its cold here right now. We are are considering doing a "Fly & Ride" this winter to either Maui or the big Island. I assume you all live on Maui and probably favor that island, but hope you will be impartial in answering our question. For those of you who have rode both islands.......If you had one opportunity to spend a week riding on one of the islands, which would it be?

We are both 60 and just enjoy riding and seeing this beautiful country of ours and meeting new people. We like to stay clear of popular tourist attractions and congestion. No shopping or fancy hotels..........just taking our time riding and enjoying the natural beauty.

We sure hope to hear your opinions, suggestions, pros/cons, whatever. I do know we have no interest in Oahu. I did 20 yrs in the Navy and been in and out of Pearl Harbor many times.

Thanks

Tom Hoover
